Man-Made GlaciersRetired civil engineer Chhewang Norphel stands in front of a water reserve built as part of a series of artificial glaciers.
Description
Global warming is causing glaciers to retreat in northern India; they're melting too quickly and not getting rebuilt in the winter. Farmers can no longer plant their first crops in the early spring, because they simply don't have enough water.
Ben Arnoldy visited the region and met someone who came up with a surprising solution — he built his own glacier.
