Father JeromeIn Mauritania, Father Jerome Otitoyomi Dukiya helps Nigerian immigrants hoping to reach Europe.
Description
The West African country of Mauritania has become a transit point for African immigrants bound for Europe in search of a better life. They come to the port city of Nouhadibou to make a treacherous journey across the ocean to Spain's Canary Islands, 500 miles away. Most of them never reach their final destination.
Will Everett reports on a Nigerian priest who's trying to educate the immigrants on the dangers of the voyage and give them tools to find a better life back in their native countries.
