During Liberia's recent civil war, many unemployed young men thought their best opportunity to get ahead would be to pick up a gun. But Joseph Parker picked up a grinding wheel instead, and became a knife sharpener. His trade has not just kept him out of war. It also has given him a relatively good living, and may help him realize his dream of going to college.
