Last summer, the world heard about the protests in Iran via Twitter. Now, the popular program has become a vehicle for getting information out of Haiti after the earthquake. Twitter users have harnessed the social networking service to share photos of the devastation and communicate with loved ones around the world. And aid organizations have taken advantage of the site's usability and popularity as well to to solicit donations for their efforts in Haiti.
