Black Mexico
Description

El Ciruelo may look like just another poor Mexican fishing village. But unlike most coastal towns, most of the villagers there are black, descendants of slaves brought to Mexico 300 years ago. The Mexican slave trade -- which was abolished in 1829 -- was particularly small. Perhaps that's why it's been all but forgotten, even by its descendents.

Conrad Fox reports.
